“It is not enough to do your best; sometimes you must do what is required.” – Winston Churchill
When the going gets tough sometimes you have to step up to the challenge and do what is required to overcome an obstacle, sometimes we can’t rely on the excuse “we did our best”.
“If we cannot find a way; we will make one.” – Winston Churchill
Don’t accept obstacles in your path as impossible hurdles; approach each obstacle with the attitude that there is a way around it or through it, you just have to figure it out.
“Trying to tax your way into prosperity is like standing in a bucket and trying to lift yourself up by the handle.” – Winston Churchill
Whatever side of the political fence you fall on this quote paints a picture for you in a way only Winston Churchill could. His charisma is shown in this quote and it is easy to see why he was a successful politician that accomplished so much!
“Success is never final; failure is rarely fatal; courage is the only thing.” –Winston Churchill
We will always face adversity, we will have set backs, we will fail, what matters is that you pick yourself back up and keep moving forward, those are the people that become a success and accomplish their goals.
“Personally I am always ready to learn, though I do not always like being taught.” – Winston Churchill
Often times being “taught” often means accepting that we were wrong or that we are learning from a bad decision or experience. It isn’t always fun but use that lesson learned to do better next time.
“However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.” – Winston Churchill
I love this quote. So often we can craft grand strategies as leaders but when put into practice it falls short; often times this is because we did not involve the people that would be actually implementing the strategy in the development of that strategy so that we can produce the best possible plan and have the buy in of those implementing it.
“Never, Never, Never give up.” – Winston Churchill
“You have enemies? Good, that just means you stood up for something at some point in your life.” – Winston Churchill
My dad used to always tell me that if you try to please everyone in life you will end up pleasing no one, there are times when you have to take a stand for what is right regardless of the opposition.
“A pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity, an optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” – Winston Churchill
“If you are going through hell, keep going.” – Winston Churchill
“Coming together is a beginning; keeping together is progress; working together is success.”
A fitting quote from the creator of the assembly line. For teams to be a success and for companies to accomplish their goals you have to find a way to get people working together rather than working as a group of individuals. Tommy Lasorda said it differently “My job is to get the 25 guys on the team to play for the name on the front of their uniform instead of the name on the back.
“Failure is simply an opportunity to begin again, this time with more intelligence.” –Henry Ford
“Whether you think you can, or you think you can’t, you are probably right.” – Henry Ford
“If I had asked people what they wanted they would have said “faster horses””- Henry Ford
Always listen to your customers on how you are doing and what you can do better but don’t limit yourself to just that, look for ways to be innovative and solve problems and create solutions for people that they didn’t think were even possibilities. Steve Jobs said it differently when asked why he didn’t listen more to consumer demand, his response was “Customers don’t know what they want until I show them what is possible.”
“You can’t build a reputation on what you are going to do.” – Henry Ford
“There is no man living that isn’t capable of doing more than he thinks he can do.” – Henry Ford
This is so true; so often the only limits we have are those we put on ourselves. Try not to fall into this trap, believe in yourself and your dreams, never say “I can’t do that”.
“You don’t have to hold a position to be a leader.” – Henry Ford
“To do more for the world than the world does for you, that is success.” –Henry Ford
“I do not know anyone that knows enough to say what is and what is definitely not possible.” – Henry Ford
“Thinking is the hardest work that there is, which is why so few people engage in it.” – Henry Ford
